We believe our purpose is to share the love of Christ and His Good News to all people.  Our members have committed to a rich tradition of doing this by spreading God’s love as God commands in Acts 1:8, “you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem(locally), and in all Jude(nationally) and Samaria(internationally), and to the ends of the earth.”

Local Missions

2010 will mark our 11^th year to participate in the building of a local home through Habitat for Humanity.  Members from our church raise money to support this home, and then we participate in the actual construction. www.habitat.org

WRBC works with other churches throughout eastern Jefferson County through Eastern Area Community Ministries to provide financial and other assistance to people in our local community.  The EACM provides a Neighborhood Visitor program where we participate in a stocking a food bank, clothing closet, Back-to-School “Backpack” ministry and rent/utility financial assistance.  Through year round donations WRBC is able to assist many families within our community.

 National Missions

ONEIDA BAPTIST INSTITUTE

• Team Size:
• A team will travel again to Oneida, Kentucky to work with the Oneida Baptist Institute, a boarding school in eastern Kentucky for underprivileged and at-risk kids.
• The trip will include working with their clothing closet, painting/construction activities, assisting in their crafts ministry and other activities.

International Missions

HAITI

• Dates: July 17-24
• Est. Cost: $1200-1400
• Team Size 5-10
• This team will work directly with Global Outreach on construction and rebuilding in the area.  This is primarily a work/relief trip that requires individuals with construction or concrete skills to help the people of Haiti in their rebuilding efforts in the wake of the massive earthquake that struck the island.

BRAZIL

• Dates: July 22-31
• Cost: $2500.00
• Team Size 6-8
• This team will be working in the Brasilia area to share God's love through Vacation Bible School, door-to-door evangelism, in-home visits and other activities.  This team will be working side-by-side with a local church in Brazil to reach their area for Christ.

EAST AFRICA

• Dates: October, 2010
• Cost: TBD
• Team Size:
• This fall a we will be concentrating on needs-based missions with church members who serve in this area.  Participants for medical needs, farm/animal care needs as well as others who can work with the missionary teams in place to spread God’s love.

 Missionary Housing

As a church it is our privilege to provide a home near our church to minister to international missionary families when they are in the U.S. on stateside assignment.  Thanks to the generous contributions and ongoing support of our members, we are able to provide free housing to those  who serve full-time as international missionaries.  If you, have questions about availability for the Mission House, please contact Kellie Johnston at kellie@mywrbc.org.
