As 2011 approaches, what is it that you hope to accomplish in the new year? Many people will sit around to discuss and consider what things they want to do in the new year.
Just as people look at the new year for a fresh start the church staff at WRBC has spent much of the fall digging into Scripture, praying, and seeking God's guidance for what He wants to accomplish through His church at the corner of Westport Road and Hurstbourne Parkway. As a staff, it has led us back to basics.
In the presentation below you will find nothing that is radically different from what you find in Scripture. As we poured over what it meant to be the church and to be disciples we kept coming back to one theme. It is a theme found in the Old Testament and solidified with the words of Jesus in Matthew 22. That theme is Loving God and Loving People.
As we approach the new year these will become the themes you will hear over and over again. We want to be a church that is striving to be disicples of Jesus Christ by loving God and loving People. It is a theme that has long been a message this church has embraced and one we think communicates best what and who we are to be.
Take time to pray, read, and embrace the vision that was Christ's vision for His church. In 2011 we will continue to take steps toward embracing the basics of our faith and recapture tha purpose and mission of the church. We hope you will join us on this incredible journey of getting back to the basics and refocusing our lives on the things that matter for eternity.
