I. Jesus sacrificed his popularity.  Mark 1:35-39

By not going along with the crowd, but standing up
for what he believed.  2:13-17

II. Jesus sacrificed his standing.

By valuing people above things.  Mark 2:1-12

III. Jesus sacrificed his family and friends.

By putting God instead of personal feelings above all else.

-His family.  Mark 3:31-35
-His friends.  Mark 6:1-6

IV.  Jesus sacrificed his security and comfort.

By seeing the big picture and counting the cost.  Mark 3:1-6

V. Jesus sacrificed his life.

By putting God’s will above even his life.  Mark 8:31-33

VI.  We are called to sacrifice for Jesus.  Are you?  Mark 8:34-38
