“How to Live a Productive Life”
II Peter 1:1-9

 I. We begin our relationship with God by accepting his love and grace.  V1

II. As we grow, a proper knowledge of God and His promises gives us everything we need to live a productive life.  V2-4

 This knowledge gives us:

• Grace and Peace
• Godliness
• Participation in the divine nature
• Power to escape the world’s corruption
• Ability to overcome our temptations

 III. Living a productive life is a gradual, growth process.  V5-8

 The Growth Process:

• Faith to Goodness
• Goodness to Knowledge
• Knowledge to Self-Control
• Self-Control to Perseverance
• Perseverance to Godliness
• Godliness to Brotherly Kindness
• Brotherly Kindness to LOVE

 The goal is an agape love for all people!!

IV.  Spiritual growth is necessary for a productive Christian life.

           A.  Proper growth will lead you to be effective and productive.

           B.  Stunted growth will lead you to be blind and useless.
