I. The way we view the Bible affects our view of God and our faith. 

A.  Jesus read the Bible, knew it well, and believed it would be fulfilled. Matthew 5:17-19
B.  Jesus believed the Bible was from God and was powerful.  Matthew 22:29
C.  Jesus believed Bible teaching took precedent over all else.  Matthew 15:1-3

II. Biblical teachings are essential for all of our life.

A.  Jesus used it to overcome temptation.  Matthew 4.
B.  He used it find the best way to live.  Matthew 5:27-28
C.  He used it to get closer to God.  Matthew 21:1-5
D.  He used it to gain purpose and focus by finding its meaning.  Matthew 23:23-24
E.  He used it for help and direction in trouble.  Matthew 27:45-46
