Poured Out: Week 1 - The First Sacrifice
In Week 1 of Poured Out: A Study on Sacrifice, we begin at the very beginning—creation, the fall, and God’s first act of sacrifice. Walking through Genesis 1–3, we see God’s good design for humanity, the devastating effects of sin, and how brokenness enters every relationship: with God, with one another, and with creation itself. Sin brings shame, hiding, and blame, exposing our need for redemption before a holy God.
Yet even in the midst of judgment, God reveals His mercy. From the promise of a coming Savior in Genesis 3:15 to the first sacrifice made by God Himself to cover Adam and Eve, we see that sacrifice has always been part of God’s plan to restore what was broken. This study reminds us that from the very beginning, God has been making a way for sinful, exposed people to be covered by His grace.
