Ministry Area: Children The Thirty
Commitment Length: Yearly
Day and Time: Sunday mornings for either the 9:30 or 11:00 service at least once a month.
Position and Purpose
The Check-in/Greeter (Greeter) will serve the mission through welcoming children and families to the Cove on Sunday mornings and walking them through the secure check-in process. The Greeter will build relationships with the leaders, children and parents. Making new children and their families feel welcome has a big impact on them returning. Encouraging leaders and knowing what is happening in their lives makes us a team rather than just individuals filling separate roles.
Tasks:
The Check-in/Greeter will help accomplish this through:
- Being in place at least 20 minutes prior to service to welcome everyone.
- Assisting parents with check-in when needed.
- Completing “guest” tags for children not yet in the system.
- Collecting guest tags at the end and retaining them for the children’s minister to be able to email on Monday.
Skills:
- Ability to connect with children, families and leaders.
- Ability to learn and use the Child Check-in system (currently Servant Keeper).
