Expected Weekly Hours: ½ hour/week
Position and Purpose
The WWCT Leader will serve the mission through engaging the 1st – 3rd graders’ hearts and minds in Biblical learning. Seeing God’s Word as active and alive sets the stage for spiritual growth. This person has them captive for 30 minutes a week to impart this to them.
Tasks:
The WWCT Leader will help accomplish this through:
- Teaching a memory verse, discussing what it means and how that’s relevant not only when written but also to children now.
- Leading the children in prayer time.
Skills:
- Ability to connect with children on their level.
- Ability to explain God’s Word to children.
- Ability to “control the crowd” in a positive way (rather than negative calling out, always saying “no” and “don’t”).
Screening:
Volunteers are subject to a criminal and child abuse background check.
