Mission:
Westport Road Baptist Church is creating a movement of volunteers to serve the purposes of Jesus Christ in our church, community and world. We are empowered through God’s Spirit to love God and and love others.
Position:
The Welcome Center Host will serve the mission by providing a warm welcome to visitors and members coming to worship on Sunday mornings. The host will assist with information requests including directions, event information, and ongoing activities.
Tasks:
The Welcome Center Host will accomplish this through:
- Being present and ready to serve at the desk 20 minutes prior to service start time.
- Wearing a volunteer lanyard so visitors can clearly identify host.
- Providing a warm and friendly greeting to members and visitors.
- Encouraging visitors to fill out a connection card.
- Answering any questions visitors or members have about ministry programs, events, directions around the church, and location of amenities. Church maps, Sunday Studies List, Minister Contact info, and General Information is located behind the desk for reference.
- Departing from position 5 minutes after service starts to accommodate any latecomers.
Expectations of Volunteer:
- Volunteers are expected to be on time and prepared in advance of their position.
- Volunteers need to communicate in advance when they are not able to fulfill their duties.
- Volunteers will need to self schedule using a Google Document that is emailed to them, or provide a written list of dates to the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Regularly worship at Westport Road Baptist Church on Sunday mornings.
- Represent Christ at all times regardless if in a serving role at church. This includes on social media and in their personal lives.
- Adherence with established WRBC policies and procedures.
Schedule:
Welcome Center Hosts self-schedule dates that they can commit to serving on Sunday mornings.

Other Requirements:
Must be able to stand and smile while communicating clearly with members and visitors.
All volunteers will be subject to a criminal background check.
