An endowment is a meaningful tool to ensure your perpetual support for those charitable causes near and dear to your heart, like Westport Road Baptist Church. By establishing an endowment or contributing to an existing endowment, you create a lasting legacy that reflects your values and convictions.
When you make an endowed gift a portion of the investment earnings are spent each year by the charity; the balance is invested allowing your gift to live on in perpetuity.
There are a variety of ways to fund your endowment gift in addition to cash. Some ways allow you to make the gift(s) during your lifetime; other ways will not go into effect until after your lifetime. Some examples are: appreciated assets like stocks, bond, mutual fund ETF shares, and real estate; life insurance; retirement plan assets; and a specific bequest in your will or revocable living trust for a percentage of your residuary estate.
